If the iOS is the best mobile platform, macOS should be the best platform for computer. ![]() for me preview is enough to see a “ glimpse “ of the images and then decide which to keep and edit as RAW with LR.Got Tons of Photos? Learn How to Manage Them Using These Apps for macOS i usually import less than 200 at time and not every day like once a week. ![]() especially for those like me who don’t shoot a lot. Then I imported the those few hundreds into Lr for processing that saved me tremendous time and resource.īut I think it’s a personal preferences too. I sorted them in FRV first, select a few hundreds from the pile of files and permanently deleted all others (as they are basically the same at each scene but very slight difference between burst shots). No way I can directly import them into Lr and select from there that would be very slow and very time consuming. In recent airshow event, I took 31K photos. Get a real RAW browser such as FastRAWViewer which is only $24. Of course, Lr's basic function is to process RAW photosīut why you have to need OS explorer/Finder to view RAW files? My new camera was not supported in iOS or Mac but when I import them to Lightroom I can see them and Edit them without problems then export as jpeg. I had this problem couple months ago with my A7r IV A Since I bought FRV and only copied from source to target drive and used FRV to double check the RAW files after copied to ensure they are not corrupted before I ever reformatted SD cards. Fortunately they were not important pictures. I only realized a few weeks later when tried to process them in Lr but surprisingly found they were all corrupted with purple strips and blocks. A group of A7r RAW files were corrupted in bad USB connection during transferring files from SD card to hard drive. Only true RAW viewer such as FastRAWViewer is displaying RAW content. All RAW files have built-in small JPEG as used when you see in EVF/LCD so likely what you see in OS level is not actual RAW but built-in JPEG. I don't know in detail but be careful not to trust OS-built-in viewer completely. I don’t think the A7 IV is supported yet in MacOS but the I’m pretty sure all other Sony bodies are supported. What image viewers would y'all recommend for opening ARW files? I found out that Preview cannot open these files and could not find some plug in that allows it to open them like it's Windows counterpart. I use Sony cameras and have them set to shoot RAW files. I recently picked up a Macbook, and intend on editing photos and videos on it. ![]()
